Pineapple Recruitment Ltd is committed to making responsible business choices that minimise the environmental impact of our recruitment and headhunting operations. We are formally committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 across all emission scopes, with an operational target of Net Zero for Scope 2 emissions by 2040. Scope 1 emissions are already net zero.
As a specialist recruitment agency delivering talent acquisition across public sector contracts, commercial central functions, and catering leadership, we deliver quality services while managing costs and continuously reducing our carbon footprint.
Emissions Scopes & Baseline Assessment
We categorise and measure our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in accordance with the GHG Protocol across three scopes:
• Scope 1 (Direct Emissions): Direct emissions from company-owned or leased vehicles and facilities (e.g., fuel used in company fleet).
• Scope 2 (Indirect Emissions): Indirect emissions from purchased energy and electricity consumed within our office premises.
• Scope 3 (Indirect Value Chain Emissions): Indirect emissions across our recruitment operations and supply chain, including:
o Business travel and employee commuting (grey fleet)
o Purchased goods and services (e.g., IT hardware, cloud software, external job boards, assessment tools)
o Waste generated in office operations
Key Carbon Reduction Initiatives
To monitor and drive down emissions across Scope Two and Three, as Scope One is already Zero, Pineapple Recruitment Ltd has established targeted operational measures:
Scope 2 – Office Energy & Facilities
• Energy-Efficient Premises: Selecting energy-efficient office space and utilising smart energy controls, LED lighting, and digital power-down policies outside core working hours.
Scope 3 – Supply Chain, Digital Operations & Commuting
• Business Travel Reduction: Prioritising remote video interviewing, virtual candidate assessments, and digital client briefings over physical travel where appropriate.
• Paperless Recruitment Operations: Fully digital candidate onboarding, electronic contracts, and ATS workflows to eradicate paper waste and printing consumables.
• Commuting & Sustainable Travel Incentives: Encouraging walk to work, cycle to-work schemes, public transport usage, and hybrid/remote working arrangements to minimise employee commuting emissions (grey fleet).
• Sustainable Supply Chain Engagement: Assessing the carbon footprint of key suppliers (job boards, ATS vendors, IT services) and prioritising suppliers committed to Net Zero alignment.
Emission Reduction Trajectory & Targets
To keep Pineapple Recruitment Ltd on track to meet our overarching Net Zero 2050 goal, we have established the following interim reduction targets relative to our baseline footprint:
• 2030 Target: 33% reduction in total Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions • 2035 Target: 48% reduction in total Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions • 2040 Target: 64% reduction in total Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions • 2045 Target: 80% reduction in total Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions • 2050 Target: 100% Net Zero emissions
Additional Operational & Social Commitments
• ISO 14001 Environmental Alignment: Operating an Environmental Management System aligned with ISO 14001 standards
• Digital First & Waste Reduction: Using QR codes, digital brochures, and electronic tender proposals rather than printed marketing collateral or single use materials.
• Waste Management & Recycling: Mandatory office waste segregation (paper, card and plastics), IT equipment recycling with a zero-landfill directive.

Governance & Declaration
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and approved by the Director level leadership of Pineapple Recruitment Ltd.
