Catering Roles We Recruit For
Kitchen & Culinary
From commis chef and chef de partie through to sous chef, head chef and executive chef, we place culinary talent at every level. Great chefs are gold dust, and we treat you that way: we’ll match you to a kitchen where your skills and ambitions actually fit.
Catering Management
We recruit chef managers, catering managers and area and regional managers for employers who need leaders, not just cover. If you’re ready to step up from the kitchen into management, we’ll help you make that move.
Front-of-House & Service
Catering assistants, kitchen assistants and service teams keep every operation running. These roles are an excellent way into the industry, with clear routes to progress once you’re in.
Catering Jobs by Sector
One of the best things about catering is choice. The skills transfer, but the settings vary enormously, and we recruit across all of them:
Contract catering — varied sites, structured progression and some of the most stable employers in hospitality.
Hotels and restaurants — fast-paced kitchens and front-of-house teams where service standards come first, from boutique venues to national chains.
Schools — school catering teams shape healthy eating habits and work term-time hours that suit family life.
Hospitals and the NHS — hospital catering staff prepare nutritious meals tailored to patient needs, with the job security the public sector brings.
Care homes — care home chefs support resident wellbeing through specialised, dietary-led meal planning.
Events — weddings, corporate functions and private parties, ideal if you thrive on variety and pressure.
Not sure which setting suits you? Tell us about your experience and what you want from your next role, and we’ll talk you through the options.
Full-Time, Part-Time and Flexible Contracts
We specialise in permanent placements, because lasting matches work better for you and for employers. Within that, the contract type is yours to choose:
Full-time catering jobs offer stability, paid leave and the clearest path to promotion, typically between 26 and 40 hours per week.
Part-time roles suit students, parents and carers, or anyone building a career around other commitments.
Flexible shift patterns let you choose hours that fit your life without giving up a permanent contract.
Tell your consultant what you need from day one, and we’ll only put you forward for roles that genuinely fit.
Salaries and Progression in Catering
As of April 2026, the National Living Wage stands at £12.71 per hour for workers aged 21 and over, which works out at roughly £24,800 a year full-time. Entry-level catering jobs start here, with pay rising as you take on skills, responsibility and seniority. Experienced chefs, chef managers and catering managers earn well above the entry level, and salaries climb again at area and regional management.
Progression in catering is unusually clear. A kitchen assistant can train towards commis chef, move up through chef de partie and sous chef, and go on to run a kitchen or a region. We support that journey with guidance on training and certifications, honest advice on which moves make sense, and access to employers who promote from within. Why Find Your Catering Job Through Pineapple Recruitment
Job boards show you adverts. We do considerably more than that:
Interview preparation that works. Once an interview is confirmed, your consultant briefs you on the company culture, the people you’ll meet and the questions to expect, then coaches you on presenting your best self.
Your CV stays confidential. We never send your CV to an employer without your explicit consent. We discuss every role with you first, so your job search stays private from your current employer.
Matched on fit, not just skills. Our catering and hospitality recruitment specialists match you on culture and values as well as experience, because the right environment is what makes a job last.
Access to unadvertised roles. Our long-standing employer relationships mean you’ll see opportunities that never reach the job boards.

Catering Jobs FAQs
What catering jobs are available right now?
Our live vacancies cover kitchen, front-of-house and management roles across contract catering, hotels, restaurants, schools, healthcare and events. Vacancies change frequently, so if you can’t see the right role today, register your CV and we’ll contact you when one comes in.
Do I need qualifications to get a catering job?
Not for entry-level roles. Catering assistants and kitchen assistants learn on the job, and employers usually provide food safety training. Chef and management positions ask for relevant experience, and certifications such as food hygiene qualifications strengthen any application. We’ll advise you on which training is worth pursuing for the roles you want.
How much do catering jobs pay in the UK?
Entry-level catering jobs start at the National Living Wage, £12.71 per hour from April 2026 for those aged 21 and over, around £24,800 a year full-time. Pay rises with skill and responsibility: experienced chefs and catering managers earn substantially more, and senior management roles command the highest salaries in the sector.
Will you send my CV to employers without asking me?
Never. We always discuss a specific role and employer with you first, and your CV only goes forward once you’ve given explicit consent. Your privacy and your current employment are protected throughout.
Do you offer part-time or flexible catering work?
Yes. Alongside full-time positions, we place candidates in permanent part-time and flexible-shift roles. Tell us the hours you need and we’ll only suggest jobs that fit.
